HEY HP!, Amazon and eBay are Flooded with Counterfeit Ink and Toner Cartridges Falsely Being Labelled and Sold as Remanufactured.
Per our first report on this last week, we are not surprised to find very large quantities of unknown ink cartridge brands flooding top e-commerce site in numbers not seen before. We have so far identified about over 30+ unknown brands, and more are to come. From the looks of things not one of these many brands is selling actual remanufactured ink cartridges and knowing our industries history, we don’t have to look very far to know where these inks came from. Plus recent collections of empty ink cartridges for remanufacturing will tell us that that there are not enough empties in the industry to justify these kind of quantities (hundreds of thousands). A very well ran Chinese toner cartel who really doesn’t care about collecting empties, the environment and doing what’s right has no problem justifying the overproduction of these counterfeit ink, until they get caught by the OEM’s. For now it’s about cashing in fast, while the getting is good. Dealing with lawsuits are the consequences that this cartel is very well aware of, but since enough money is made off these counterfeit goods, it justifies the production and the risk of getting these to market, also since most lawsuits only take around 10% to 20% of their profits on any given year. They still clear enough to make worth doing over and over again, and that’s why they are not going away anytime soon.
There are probably only two companies in the world that can pump out these ink cartridge shells and chip in these huge quantities, in the millions. One of the world’s top counterfeit toner and ink manufacturer is obviously Ninestar, and since they are so proud of their latest cloned toner and ink automation plant, we are glad to mention them in this article due to their long history of deceit. What make this story different than other Tonernews.com stories are that huge numbers of different brands that are being used. This is obviously a new approach by the Chinese, since their liabilities is even more limited by finding more local suckers in other countries to promote their counterfeit goods and by making their own new brands to sell directly online through what we believe are hidden shell companies. To our knowledge this has been going on for well over a year now.

AMAZON and EBAY, who’s ethics are constantly questioned has played a major role in our industries demise. As long as they get their commissions, they easily turn a blind eye to thousands of businesses struggling with Chinese counterfeits. In the past year amazon has tried to clean up its act and has done a pretty good job, at least from what we see in their numerous press releases, but more needs to be done because the Chinese counterfeit industry is not going anywhere anytime soon, especially not in our industry.
