BAi Embroidery Machines · Comparison Guide

Mirror vs. Vision vs. Vision Dual Head

Frequently Asked Questions

Choosing a BAi Machine - Common Questions

How do I choose between the Mirror, Vision, and Vision Dual Head?

Start with three numbers: the largest design you need to stitch, how many caps or garments you run in an average week, and whether you need one job running at a time or two. The Mirror handles standard apparel and structured hats. The Vision opens up a wider sewing field with faster cap speeds. The Dual Head is built for shops running two production lines at once.

Can the Mirror keep up with paid work, or is it strictly a starter machine?

It can absolutely keep up. The Mirror is a genuine commercial machine with 15 needles and a 350 x 500mm field, so it takes on real customer orders - teamwear, monograms, promotional hats, and small-batch retail. Plenty of shops run a Mirror as their only machine for years.

What do I actually gain by stepping up to the Vision?

A wider 400 x 500mm sewing field, cap speeds up to 800 SPM, and a stiffer, more refined drive and motion system. You also get a full set of cap and hat frames plus ten flat frames in the box, which shortens setup time between jobs.

How do I know if a two-head machine is worth it for me?

If you regularly run the same or similar designs across a batch, the Dual Head effectively doubles throughput from a single operator. Two heads running at up to 950 SPM on caps is the difference between finishing a team order today and finishing it next week. If your volume is still sporadic, a single-head Vision is usually the smarter spend.

Can I add a second head to my machine down the road?

Head count is set at the factory, so a single-head machine stays single-head. Growing shops typically add a Dual Head alongside their existing machine rather than converting it.

Is the control system the same across all three models?

Yes. Every BAi machine runs the Institch OS5 touchscreen with the same guided 13-step workflow, so training carries over and operators can move between machines without relearning the interface. Institch Cloud, which handles multi-machine file management and automatic job costing, is included with the Vision and Vision Dual Head.

Will the accessories I already own fit a different BAi model?

Yes. Thread, stabilizers, hat foam, and the Mighty Hoop kit are shared across the Mirror, Vision, and Vision Dual Head.

What financing options are available?

Both Personal and Business Financing are available on every BAi machine, including the Dual Head, so you can structure payments around your production schedule.

I'm still on the fence. Who can help me decide?

Talk to our team. Tell us what you produce, your typical order size, and how many units you need per week, and we'll point you to the model that fits without overspending.
